The design was to create a new sports drink brand that connected with dehydrated citizens, along with their countries’ lack of water, and those who did not identify with traditional sports marketing. Unlike major competitors that promoted structured athleticism, ‘Life Water’ targeted adolescents and young adults (mostly women) in street-based sports such as soccer, netball, and swimming. The challenge was to design a gritty and authentic identity that reflected energy, individuality, and street culture.
This concept was called “Life Water”, a high-quality drink bottle, and was created mostly using mock-ups in Adobe Photoshop and saved as PDFs to be placed in Adobe InDesign. There was extensive research involving the collection of images of popular sports bottles, billboards, iPhones, trucks, water, fruit, and people participating in sports. I spent countless hours putting everything together in Photoshop. I chose a transparent, durable plastic sports bottle and made colour changes, along with developing a timeline, the nutrition label, recycling logo, and brand identity. It was a newly styled sports bottle compared to today’s drink bottles and cans.
As the mock-up bottles were completed, additional mock-ups were created to make the concept more representative in advertisements, such as billboards and bus shelters featuring children playing sports, social media posts of pure water, delivery transport visuals, and web banners. All these design mock-ups were created in Photoshop and combined with the “Life Water” bottle.
