Wrapping Paper
You are required to apply colour theory by experimenting with colour and colour combinations/schemes to communicate ideas and design solutions to a design product as part of a design process. Work through the tasks within Part 2 and provide information and visuals as requested in the boxes below.
Design a pattern that can be applied to wrapping paper for a specific purpose:
The client has requested that the main image used for the pattern should be hand-drawn/painted to create a more engaging design.
The client requires a range of designs for different occasions, such as:
children’s birthday, christening, baby shower, engagement, anniversary, teenage birthday, graduation, marriage, valentine’s day, etc.

The Brief:
Designed a custom wrapping paper for an occasion or holiday that reflected its theme
and mood while appealing to the target audience. All elements were original and hand-
created using drawing, painting, or other suitable media. The final piece featured a
repeatable pattern and was visually engaging, thematic, and print-ready.

Design Concept:
The selected wrapping paper theme was Easter. The process of creating the Easter
wrapping paper involved handmade paintings on art paper, which were then designed
digitally in Adobe Illustrator. The chosen figures included rabbits, chicks, and eggs
using primary colours.
The next step involved scanning the paintings into Adobe Photoshop to remove the
backgrounds. In addition, each figure was saved as an individual image. Finally, the
Easter figures were arranged and mocked up in Adobe Illustrator, along with the
decorative paper colours, ready for printing.
